Selena Rook (Performance and Creation)
Selena Rook has performed in physical theater, opera, and street theater productions. She was the artistic director of “Inclownito” a 2-year interdisciplinary performance project with the Theatre Gérard Philipe in Champigny-Sur-Marne. A 2009 graduate of the Jacques Lecoq theater school and Laboratoire d’Etude du Mouvement scenography course, she has done clown training with a variety of pedagogues (John Turner, Lory Leshin, Helene Gustin, LUME.) as well as dance and circus arts training (Kirstie Simmons, David Dorfman, Les Noctambules). In 2005 she was a Watson Fellow for her yearlong project “Contempory Clown Circuit: Performance Across Borders.” Together with Coline Irwin, she co-founded Association Peekaboo in 2011, an organization which offers creative workshops around artworks and artistic books, collaborating with partners such as Centre des Arts d'Enghien-les-bains, Centre Georges Pompidou, Centre National des Arts Plastiques. Selena has worked as a professional hospital clown with Le Rire Médecin and Laughter League for over 10 years and has a BA in Arts and Social Change.
Coline Irwin (Pedagogical Direction)
Inspired by Bruno Munari, Katsumi Komagata, Reggio Emilia, and Les Trois Ourses, Coline Irwin’s work navigates between art and early childhood education. She worked for many years in a Montessori school, learning to adapt to the rhythm of each child. Her work with Reggio Emilia and Arno Stern’s pedagogies deepened her understanding of creativity and childhood. She was the pedagogical director of the Nurserine preschool and the Bloom School kindergarden, focusing on creativity, mouvement and fostering openess. Together with Selena Rook, she co-founded Association Peekaboo, an organization which offers workshops, events, installations and trainings around pieces of art and artistic objects, in order to enter into the creative process through experience. Coline is the author of two books C’est autant d’amour que je t’envoie, éditions MeMo, 2010, and the book-object Volume 1, made by Figura/Sfondo and she leads trainings and gives lectures around the themes of childhood education and creativity.
Felipe Magana (Theatrical Direction)
Felipe Magana is a Chilean street theater performer, clown, acrobat and juggler. He started his artistic training in 1999 at “El Circo del Mundo” in Santiago, Chili and quickly joined the companies Reciclacirco, Circo del mundo and Los Melquiades to tour numerous shows throughout Chili, Argentina and Brazil. In 2008 he decided to train as an actor/clown in Europe while performing his clown solo in the street and performing in “Lo strano mondo de Matilda e Tulipàn”, a clown and circus duo in Festivals such as Les articulés in Cheylard, Clown&Clown in Monte San Giusto and Festival Chieri in Turin. En 2010 he arrived in Paris, performing in “Le roi et l'oiseau” (Compagnie Kaleïdochrome) and “Petites formes en piste” (Association En Actes et En Paroles). In 2014 together with Ariel Muñoz Toledo, Felipe created the show “La Belle Folie” a clown, music and circus cabaret which they continue to tour. In 2015 they won the Prix de la Ville at the Nez Rouge des Clowns de la Chiffogne Festival. Since 2019, Felipe has worked as a professional hospital clown with the French organization Le Rire Médecin.
