THEATERS AND FESTIVALS
For all audiences, including children from 6 months on, Mon Carton supports novel programming for our youngest audiences while still appealing to adults. Mon carton is a mostly non-verbal, physical theater performance using dance, object manipulation and clown theater. Though there is a clear scenic space and energy, there is no 4th wall, the performer shares their experiences and emotions directly with the audience and reacts to their reactions in turn. Selena is an experienced improvisor which is especially adapted to young audiences who sometimes have unexpected reactions. She modifies the script when needed, weaving improvised moments or audience involvement into the show. Elegant, poetic, and funny, the show has custom pre-show music as well as light and sound cues but can also be performed in alternative spaces.
